The Women in Engineering session is a dedicated platform to acknowledge, celebrate, and be inspired by the remarkable journeys of women who have shaped the world of science, technology, and defence engineering.

Biography

Mrs. Madhuri M. Trikande is a distinguished scientist and engineer with decades of service at DRDO, where she specialised in design, development, project management, system engineering, and configuration management of advanced systems for ground vehicles and weapon platforms.

During her illustrious career, she successfully realised several landmark systems including the Electronic Engine Control & Dual Control System for service vehicles, HEV, OT Complex on wheels, EMI Shelters, Concept Unmanned Vehicles, and the Technology Demonstration UGV for surveillance and NBC recce role.

As Director SQR, she made significant contributions to ensuring quality across major national defence projects including the MGS, ATAGS, WhAP, and CBRN Recce Vehicle (Tracked) Mk-II. She also played a pivotal role in establishing the EMI/EMC Lab at VRDE and was conferred the Lab-level Technology Group Award for her work on UGV technologies.

Biography

Dr. Dhanashree V. Vyawahare began her engineering career after completing her Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, affiliated with Nagpur University, in 2002.

She successfully completed the prestigious 47th Batch Training Program at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, and joined the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) as an Electrical Design Engineer.

Driven by her passion for advanced research, she pursued an Integrated M.Tech + Ph.D. in Power Electronics from IIT Bombay, strengthening her expertise in power systems and nuclear engineering.

With over 21 years of experience in the nuclear power sector, she currently serves as the Additional Chief Engineer, leading the Electrical and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Group for Bharat Small Modular Reactors (BSMR).
